PART TIME WORK

I started to work at Tutti Frutti after we'd have done our presentation...
My friend, Erra ask all of us (our housemates) to help her at there coz the place that she work now (Tutti Frutti) got no staffs only she & the manager work there since all the former staffs resign because the mistakes they'd done there...
I don't get it what's the problem... Fortunately, 2 senior staffs from KL to help them manage bussiness...
Actually they're young couple of husband and wife... Sabahan people also, but working at Tutti Frutti Bangsar KL for long period... hehe

TUTTI FRUTTI..
what I know, it is newly built shop at 1Borneo Hypermall and begins its operation since September this year...
This shop was selling Frozen Yogurt and the owner of this bussiness was fully owned under NAZA CORPORATION COMPANY...
ala... Yg syarikat kereta 2... hehehe

1stly me n my friend(my housemate)- Rybllina@Bugou go there and we'd interviewed by the Mr Shan Tai (TF operation manager)...
He asked us, how long we can work, and told us what we should do there...
Last question he asked, "When u can start work?"
I said, I'm ok, ASAP can, tomorrow also I could start..
Initially, Bugou and I decided to start work on that day, we could but hehe
I think it's too early, plus working there based on dual-shift, morning and afternoon... so,
1 of us cannot go to work at the same shift,
If I go to work at morning, then Bugou must go at the afternoon and vice versa...
Shan will send us home if we go to work at afternoon... hehe
What a kind-hearted manager we have...

Then after that, we went home...
Leaving Erra there... hehe

Feel a bit nervous!

Yeah... I'm so happy...
Both of my assessors are nice and asking me question that I could answer correctly...
hehe

Moreover my assessor for oral presentation gave me an applause...
She's smiling and said "Very Good Presentation"...

Training Workshop on Clinical Microbiology...

24-25 Oct 2011 (Monday & Tuesday)...
Quite busy attending Training Workshop on Quality Assurance and Antibiotic Resistance Monitoring in Clinical Microbiology...
1st day...
  • Having lectures at a.m, and practical hands on at p.m...
  • Learn new thing... Method of rapid identification by biochemical test BDL crystal agar for Gram Negative bacteria... Flood the organism suspension in BDL broth, and incubate..
  • Inoculate colony in MHB, Peptone Water
  • Gram positive bacteria I
  • Incubate the plate media  BA, Mc conkey, and Mueller Hinton agar at 37oC
2nd day...
  • Having lecture on PCR at a.m, and practical after that...
  • Read plate, and the BDL crystal plate
  • Interpret biochemical reaction on TSI for GN bacteria
  • Input/ Entering result into computer (BDL program) - I got the organism Pseudomonas aeruginosa!
  • Interpret biochemical reaction on Bile esculin agar for GP bacteria - I got the organism Enterococcus fecalis (Streptococcus fecalis group D)...
  • Read sensitivity diameter zone on both GN and GP...
  • Jot down results interpretation on the question paper and submit...
  • We're also instructed to submit our media plate for GN (Mac Conkey for purity testing) also both sensitivity testing media @ Mueller hinton agar(MHA)... One of my MHA was contaminated, but not interfering the susceptible zone diameter... Yokatta... Thanks goodness...

At the end of the program, I didn't expect that I got full marks for all the questions... but given few bonus marks only.. May be because of one of my MHA plate was contaminated??
    Luckily...
I got present... TOP 12...(b'coz 12 of us got high score for the test) hehehe
the luckiest 5 person(who got more bonus marks) were given bracelet each of them... wuwuw...
I'm sooo jealous! But neva mind lorr...
The most important thing is I got new experience through this program particularly using BDL crystal agar and technique in inoculating bacteria suspension in it...
    ok...
    that's all...
I'll tell u more stories next time!
    See ya~~~

Finally... My thesis is done...

onigiriemoticon
19 Oct... was the final day to submit report...
I was afraid to print my thesis out initially because when I check my thesis, I realised that I missed 1 point in my methodology necessary to support one of my statement in discussion, I guess...
But since my supervisor said I can submit my report directly to the module coordinator because she said it's ok already...

The most important moment when she called me to let her know how many does the printing and binding costs, she will pay...
OMO...
girlemoticon
I'm ashamed...
So shy...
She's too kind... Eventhough she was a strict person... FYI, she's the one of lecturer that have been frightened by all students during report presentation... She likes to ask questions, and totally argue the improper statement... So if you do a little mistakes in your report, u better prepare how to answer brilliantly...
But since she was my supervisor, I definitely not being asked psycho questions(I guess...)

plus, since I come to see her to correct mistakes and errors on my report, sometimes she bring me to chit chat, give me cute egg-like chocolate... and not forgotten she gave me "angpow"...

OMG... I 'm so shy...
She already married and have 2 childrens already..
Her husband was one of the deputy of dean of my school...
So sweet, they work in the same place...
hehe
Sometimes she tells me bout her kids... Funny...
Because her daughter likes to get their mum to buy many junkfoods (i.e. chocolate) just want to collect the freebies (toys)...
haha
I think her daughter is cute...
Her son is strict like her I guess, because she ever told me that her son got mad to his little sister because of little sister hobby (wasting money to buy chocolates that she don't even eat it, just to get the freebies)...
hahaha
What a cute children of hers...

Anyway, since yesterday, I haven't SMS her yet to tell her the total cost of printing and binding of my thesis... because I still shy...
wuwuwu...
I tersangat sangat la segan...

I know it when my friend suddenly post on my FB wall, she suddenly show her condolence, then I was shocked...
Yaasin...
May his soul rest in peace...

Matteh kudasaaiii........ hehe

"Don't panic, just relax... Don't worry about the discussions... It doesn't matter if u cannot do better, but u have made the results presentation pretty nice..."

Her mood is ok on that day...
Alhamdulillah... No need to be stressful bout my research thesis...
My supervisor gives me many advises, plus lend me books as a guide, and articles to access so that I can gain more info in order to accomplish my report...
No need to be worry la... Just read more articles...

Actually my report just 60% done...
My supervisor only make a correction for the results part only (1/5 of all chapters)...
She wants me to meet her 2 days before the due date of the report submission to the module coordinator...
huhu
No need correction after this, I just have to make it, and make sure all the contents are suitable and compact...

Areddah...

After that, she tells me her experiences while she was at Selayang Hospital plus "mengumpat-ngumpat" one of the SPU lecturer/deputy of dean...

kawaigirlfemoticon
She told me to seek for work after presentation... hehe
Itu sudah tentu doctor... kekekekekek

Cholera - Causes of cholera, sign, symptoms and preventions of cholera, treatments and home treatments for Cholera.

he word cholera is derived from a Greek term “Khole” that means "flow of bile." And Latin word “Cholera” which means ‘billious diarrhea’. Cholera is an acute intestinal infection caused by ingestion of food or water contaminated by a comma-shaped bacteria Vibrio cholerae, the most feared epidemic diarrheal disease because of its severity.

In India, it's common among children ages 1 to 5, but in other endemic areas, it's equally distributed among all age-groups.

Causes of Cholera
The most common cause of cholera is:

  • It is caused by a germ known as “Vibrio Cholerae”
  • Exposure from poor hygiene
  • Eating raw or undercooked food, shellfish
  • Susceptibility to cholera may be increased by a deficiency or an absence of hydrochloric acid.

After a disaster, this is a very real danger, since regular, clean water and food supplies are often unavailable. The disease can be spread even further by infected people using already dirty water sources to clean themselves or dispose of waste.

Signs & Symptoms of Cholera
Symptoms begin 1 to 3 days after infection and range from mild, uncomplicated diarrhea to severe, potentially fatal disease. Some infected people have no symptoms. The infection is often mild or without symptoms, but sometimes can be severe. The infected person has several symptoms which can be characterized by:

  • Abdominal cramps
  • Dehydration
  • Diarrhea has a "fishy" odor
  • Dry mouth
  • Dry skin
  • Excessive thirst
  • Leg cramps
  • Low urine output
  • Low Blood Pressure
  • Nausea
  • Rapid heart rate
  • Sunken eyes
  • Tiredness
  • Unusual sleepiness
  • Vomiting
  • Watery diarrhea

In the infected persons, rapid loss of body fluids leads to dehydration and shock. Without treatment, death can occur within hours.

Diagnosis of Cholera
Cholera is diagnosed by taking the stool sample and to identify the bacteria that can cause cholera. Cholera requires immediate treatment because of watery diarrhea, so the doctors are likely to begin rehydration before a definitive diagnosis is made.

  • A doctor confirms a diagnosis of cholera by recovering the bacteria from rectal swabs or from fresh stool samples.
  • A dark-field microscopic examination of fresh feces showing rapidly moving bacilli allows for a quick, tentative diagnosis.
  • Cholera can be confirmed only by the isolation of the causative organism from the diarrheic stools of infected individuals.
  • All food isolates must be tested for the production of cholera enterotoxin.

Preventions of Cholera
Cholera is usually transmitted through contaminated water or food. Outbreaks can occur in any part of the world where water supply, sanitation, food safety, and hygiene are inadequate.

  • Drink only boiled water or water that has been treated with chlorine or iodine.
  • Eat only thoroughly cooked food and are still hot, or fruit that you have peeled yourself.
  • Avoid undercooked or raw fish or shellfish.
  • Make sure all vegetables are cooked properly, avoid salads.
  • Avoid foods and beverages from street vendors.
  • Do not bring perishable seafood.
  • Check for proper sanitation and water purification systems
  • Give liquid bland foods, lemon, onions and mint to the patient
  • Vegetables and fruits must be washed with solution of potassium permanganate
  • New Vaccines for cholera are available and appear to provide a somewhat better immunity and fewer side-effects than the previously available vaccine.
  • Health education aimed at behaviour change is thus an important component of cholera prevention and control.

Treatments of Cholera
Cholera is an easily treatable disease.

  • Water and electrolyte replacement are essential treatments for cholera, The prompt administration of oral re-hydration salts to replace lost fluids nearly always results in cure.
  • Use of antibiotics
  • Hands that touch cholera patients or their clothing and bedding should be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized.
  • Use of highly hygienic, properly cooked food and cleaned boiled water.
  • Rigid purification of water supply and proper disposal of human excreta.
  • If left untreated, cholera can kill quickly.

Home Treatments for Cholera

Home Treatments for Cholera includes:
Use of Lemon: The juice of Lemon can kill cholera bacilli within a very short period of time. It can be taken in the form of a sweetened or salted beverage for this purpose.

Use of Guava Root Bark: Thirty grams of the root bark should be used in half a litre of water to make the decoction. The water should be boiled down to reduce it by one-third. This decoction can be taken twice daily.

Use of Onion: Onions are another valuable remedy for cholera. About thirty grams of onion and seven black peppers should be pounded finely in a pestle and given to the patient in two or three doses during the day.

Use of Bitter Gourd: The fresh juice of bitter gourd is an effective medicine in the early stages of cholera. Two teaspoons of this juice, mixed with an equal quantity of white onion juice and a teaspoon of lime juice, should be given twice daily in the treatment of this condition.

Use of Cucumber: A glass of fresh juice of cucumber leaves with an equal quantity of tender coconut water, given in doses of 30-60 ml, forms a valuable remedy for excessive thirst during cholera.

Use of Clove: Cloves are useful in cholera. About four grams of cloves should be boiled in three litres of water until half of the water has evaporated. The decoction thus prepared should be given to the patient several times during the day.

Just informed her I wanna change a bit about my title research... She said ok, then have to consider on what type of data, and how I analysed the data...
I thought he wants me to meet her A.S.A.P, and imagine that she will shoot me with a laser questionnaires... Fortunately, she just wanna know if I have problem with my thesis... Hehehe
So far, nothing, cause I haven't completed reading and make random analysis on the data I've collected from the hospital lab...
